The Wakasite online readiness review

How online-ready is your agency?

This year we reviewed 2,945 registered Nigerian travel agencies and scored each one on a simple question: can a visitor find you online, book a trip, and pay, without making a phone call?

How the score works

Six areas. One score, 0 to 100.

The same six areas decide the score, whether we reviewed an agency's website by hand and by machine, or you take the two-minute assessment yourself. It measures one thing: what a customer actually experiences when they try to book and pay with you.

01

Your website

Is there a working, current site at all, or does the domain lead nowhere? Most of the register, 2,755 agencies, had no working website when we checked.

02

Your packages & offers

Can customers browse a live catalogue of your trips, visas, tours and stays, or do offers travel as flyers and PDFs, re-sent chat by chat?

03

Booking online

Can a visitor actually start a booking, or does every path end in "call us" or a contact form?

04

Paying online

Can that visitor complete a payment without a phone call, a bank-transfer screenshot, or a follow-up chat? This is where almost every agency stops.

05

Where the sale is run

When every path ends in a WhatsApp chat, the quotes, payments and follow-ups behind it live in chats and notebooks too, instead of one dashboard.

06

Staying in touch

Deposits collected and balances followed up automatically, newsletters going out, customers able to see their trip. Or chased by hand, when remembered.

Areas 5 and 6 are where Wakasite works hardest for you. Behind every Wakasite storefront is a full back office: every enquiry, quote, order, customer and payment in one dashboard, with balance reminders, newsletters and a customer portal built in. Not scattered across chats, spreadsheets and notebooks.

What it means for you

The online travel market in Nigeria is still unclaimed.

Nigerians already research trips, compare packages and message agencies at midnight. But of the 2,945 agencies we reviewed, fewer than one in a hundred could actually take that booking and payment online. Nearly everyone is selling the same way: WhatsApp chats, transfer screenshots, and a notebook.

That is not a weakness. It is the single biggest opening in the industry. The agencies that let customers book and pay online first will be the names people pass around, long before the rest catch up.

We built Wakasite so you can be one of the first, this week, without a developer.
